The Manja is an unapologetic, community-driven lifestyle platform fostering Black womanhood, creativity, and curiosity. Our content centers “IT” girls and aspiring tastemakers throughout the African Diaspora. We’re bridging the gap between online and IRL through sharing expert information, recommendations, and culturally relevant commentary on things impacting our everyday lives, as well as the things that matter most.
The Manja is about offering a safe space for Black women’s points of view – creative and unfiltered, but most importantly, unapologetic. In addition to building community, we’re also here to mobilize ourselves and each other to help the communities we care about.

The Manja’s Brand Origins
The Manja Is Rooted In…
The name “Manja” originates from the Mende language of Sierra Leone, roughly translating to “stubborn” or “strong-willed” in English. As a concept, Manja serves as a constant reminder of encouragement for those who are uncompromising, ambitious, dreamers, and creatives in the pursuit of the goals they set.
